Insurance
Like many psychologists, Dr. McGill does not participate as an in-network (IN) provider with commercial insurance companies but will provide a Superbill if you wish to seek reimbursement from using out-of-network (OON) benefits. Some insurance plans include this coverage, indicating that after a client meets their deductible, their insurance company may reimburse them a with a percentage of the amount of their therapy payment. Some insurance companies do not have the deductible requirement. The reimbursement rates can range between 60-80% of the clients session fees depending on the clients out-of-network benefit coverage.
Dr. McGill is a credentialed Medicare provider, but not for any Medicare Advantage plans.
If contacting your insurance to verify out-of-network benefits, we recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:
- Does my health insurance plan include out-of-network mental health benefits?
- Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
- Are there limits to my plan?
- Do I need pre-certification (not authorization)? If so, ask the representative to pre-certify you immediately.
Payment
Session fees are payable directly by cash, check, credit/debit card, Health Savings Account or peer-to-peer mobile payments including Paypal and Zelle.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. With the exception of extenuating circumstances, missed appointments are $100 and late cancellations are $75 (after 8 am day of appointment).
Good Faith Estimate (GFE)
Pursuant to the Federal No Surprises Act of 2022, I will provide you with a good faith estimate for the cost of therapy. This will occur for our first meeting (intake session) and for follow-up appointments. This estimate is based on our conversations and my initial understanding of your circumstances focus of work together. There will be an initial estimate and it may be revised after our initial meeting, or if there are other changes as we move forward in therapy.
